A plan moving forward
Not knowing what to do or how to start can be an overwhelming thing but Uprise University is a great way to help high school students sort through steps for the path they'd like to go down. I can aid students in reach a decision about what major they may want to declare for college, pursuing job opportunities that align with their field of interest and assistance with getting ready for college. Additionally, when students work, they can showcase their experience to College Admissions making them stronger candidates for these institutions. (Colleges and Universities like to see involvement in extracurricular activities!)
In other words, students no longer feel lost or anxious about what to do next and you can feel relieved knowing that they're headed in the right direction.
How does this run?
Uprise University is a 4-week program. Before officially getting started, there will be an intake where students can let me know what they would like to learn most and get out of this time. Once I know the specific areas they need help, we can begin sessions to go over those topics. Imagine it like a course created just for your teens!
During the 4 weeks, there will be a mix of group sessions and 1-on-1 meetings (all which will be held virtually). Below are the elements of this program. It is designed to foster a space for community, learning and growth.
1-on-1 Sessions
A separate time that students will have directly with me to discuss goals, create an individualized step-by-step plan and check-in on the progress.
Group Sessions
Everyone in the program will meet together twice a week online for a workshop or group discussion on a specific topic. Excellent opportunity to learn together with peers and for students to support one another.
Discussion Page
When there is no session, students can keep in touch with each other and with me on our class community page. The community page will also contain information on what we've gone over in group sessions with some extra material if needed and will be a space to ask more questions or offer feedback.
Additional"Office hours" are also available for students needing extra help. And they're also for you! You are an important part of this experience and I want to keep you in the loop with how your child(ren) are doing and to discuss what would be helpful as we team up to set your teens up for success!

FAQs
Elise, there are other free programs that I can enroll my child in for job prep and college planning. Why should I pay you?

There are many wonderful programs out there and by all means, use them! It's how I got started on my journey. I like to think of myself as a compliment to what's out there. However, what's really great about being a part of this is the highlighting of student voice. What are the questions students have? Where exactly are they feeling stuck? The sessions I plan are based on what students feel they need to navigate job opportunities and plan for the future. As someone who's done this work previously with other organizations, it's harder to hone in with bigger programs. I loved working with each and every one of my students and I did my best but some of the demands were challenging. With Uprise University, I set a capacity that allows for group activity but more importantly, connect with each student and provide personalized support.
I would love to enroll my child but the price is too high...

Let’s have a talk! Send me a PM or email and we can discuss pay options. I would hate to have student not be able to enroll because of money! If an arrangement really can't be worked out, please feel free to keep in touch with me! I may have other resources or places to refer you that could best serve your needs with where you're at right now. I also have free content on my social media accounts that you may find helpful for your teen.
